After graduating from RISD in 2006, Carla Morales established a design/sewing/screenprinting studio and started the fashion label Carrotcake. As Carrotcake, Carla has created a world full of kitschy graphics, prints and patterns, playful accessories and apparel—all inspired by her love of knick-knacks, dolls, desserts, and all things quirky, clever and cute.
Along with working as a freelance designer, Carla sells her Carrotcake items online and in local boutiques. Carrotcake’s Fancypack, a six-pocket fannypack shaped like a bow, has been featured in various fashion blogs and websites from around the world, as well as in the April 09 issue of Cincinnati Magazine. Carrotcake’s Fancypack will also appear in the 2009 TV reality series The Best of the Best.
Carla lives with her free-roaming bunny Paris, and is a member of the House Rabbit Society.
